In this text we briefly and concisely describe the social and political organization inside the Greek-Venetian cities, and especially in Nauplion (Argolis), during 14th-16th centuries. The population inside these Renaissance cities was mainly Greek in its vast majority, organized in social classes according to the Venetian model (nobility, bourgeoisie, commoners). On the very top of the social and political hierarchy inside such a city it was placed the Venetian Governor followed by many other members of the administration appointed by Venice itself. Nevertheless the locals had also many political rights also acknowledged by Serenissima. All these should be seriously taken under consideration by the Venetian Governors so the entire political and social net could work perfect. Through the pages of this book one can learn very much about the role of the Venetian administration, the faction of the political structures, and many patterns of everyday life inside an average Greek – Venetian city, like Nauplion, during the Renaissance.
