积聚是指腹内结块，或痛或胀的病证。积和聚有不同的病情和病机，积是有形，固定不移，痛有定处，病属血分，为脏病；聚是无形，聚散不定，痛无定处，病在气分，属腑病。癥瘕之证，大抵属于积聚之类，癥和积属同一类，都具有形不移的特点；瘕与聚属同类，都有聚散无常的特征。
