This 1913 biography of the British Radical and Liberal statesman John Bright (1811-1889) was hailed by the New York Times as "masterly" and destined to "assume a position of authority and permanence in the library of English political literature." The volume follows Bright’s life from his schooldays, through the battle of the Corn Laws and the American Civil War, to his death.

This 1922 history has as its object, in the author's words, "to enable the student or general reader to obtain . . . a picture of change and development during the hundred and twenty years when things . . . were undergoing a more rapid change of character than in any previous epoch of our annals."

This 1919 collection of essays is a republication of the 1913 volume, Clio, A Muse, with the addition of four new essays:  "The Two Carlyles," "Englishmen and Italians," "The News of Ramillies," and "The Hegira of Rousseau."  Contents also includes "If Napoleon had won the Battle of Waterloo" and "The Muse of History."
