Sandra Robertson is feeling mad and sad that her marriage failed to controlling Jim. She won’t go out and about even though her friend, Liz, tells her to. But then along comes her aunt Geraldine, who tells her ‘Don’t Get Mad, Get Even’. She should show Jim what he is missing. Sandra thinks about this and decides they are right, and joins the local gym after realising she has let herself go. At the gym, she meets Troy, a personal trainer, and with his help she starts to get fitter and healthier and slimmer, and falls in love with him. But Sandra is afraid to get hurt again, and she has her seven-year-old daughter, Bunty, to think about. Then Sandra hears Jim when she joins and becomes determined to show him what she can do without him. After a month, Sandra and Troy go out and she is relieved that Troy and her daughter, Bunty, get on really well. That it one hurdle out of the way. She exercises hard every week until the day comes when the plan that her and Troy have come up with to show Jim in the class he will attend how well she has been coping without him. Sandra finally stands up to Jim in public, and wins. Everyone is happy, especially Sandra who feels she has at last moved on in her life, and found love and a new career, thanks to Troy.
