The volume covers the principles and theoretic cores concerning the childhood pedagogy, widening the perspective from the cross-disciplinary side – the connection between the other sciences and the sciences of the education – to the ethical and deontological side – the educative function. On an epistemological basis the study has a multi-focus character and perspective and it aims at the systematising of some basic pedagogical categories (the individual, the game, the development, the growth, the care, the intention…) putting them in our theoretical context, characterized by the intersection, mixing up, and the constant getting over the traditional frames of reference, source for the 20th century pedagogy : the activism, the constructivism, ethology and psychoanalysis. The volume is addressed to the ones who need a preparatory text to the childhood pedagogy (educators, teachers, and the people willing to deepen the theory and epistemology of the child’s education in the first and second childhood with a particular attention to the Italian situation and tradition).

Andrea Bobbio former teacher at the kindergarten is now assistant Professor of General and social Pedagogy at the University of Valle d’Aosta – Université de la Vallée d’Aoste.
