Marie-Catherine d'Aulnoy (1650-1705) was a French writer, and she was considered the one who developed the genre of a classical French fairy-tale. Her most popular fairy-tales were: 'The Story Of Pretty Goldilocks', 'The Blue Bird' and 'The Imp Prince'. Once upon a time there lived a king with his queen who had two sons and a daughter. During the christening fairies foretold that the girl would become a cause of her brothers' death. So the king and the queen decided to lock the poor girl in a tower. Eventually the queen and the king died and the brothers, who weren't afraid of the foretelling, freed the girl. Every little thing seemed to her a miracle, escpecially she was amazed by the beauty of peacocks, and declared that she would only marry the king of peacocks in order to protect them against numans.
