Planning is essential in life and having basic knowledge on responding to emergencies can be life-saving. None of us wants to think about dangers or life-threatening scenarios. But understanding the possibilities and having within our knowledge an understanding of potentialities is essential. Nobody can know the correct response to all emergencies. But there is the potential to understand common dangers and have a range of options to cheat death or serious injuries. What are the most common non-medical emergencies? In an emergency what are the typical responses? What are the options?

As we go through life we encounter serious situations. A friend dies in a car crash. We read about a mudslide killing many people. This is part of the pre-planning. Car-crash, should we take a driver safety course? In a mudslide, should we panic and run downhill or think and run to the side? These can be important life-lessons. This ebook can be part of that process.

This is not a manual that says, "If this happens, do this." "If this happens do this..." is impossible to formulate for every happenstance or for any specific occurrence. Consider all that is involved: there is the event, the people involved, the periphery and the mindset. All these and more need to be considered and then: what might be the mitigating actions to implement. A spectrum of post event actions are needed to be within a person's knowledge base. Reading this e-book, will provide some of those considerations.

Some actual training to be considered is discussed. Types of emergencies are described. Post event actions are suggested. In an automobile accident, insurance companies have their policies, but afterwards, there are dangers and responses that need to be remembered. After a hurricane or tornado there are dangers and actions that also need to be considered. Tools, personal items and safety implements are suggested, for example a spring loaded center punch can be almost miraculous in some circumstances.

We pray that you never have to implement any of these actions, but if you do, it is better to have, at least some understanding of what is being confronted.
