The goal of this book is to refute the social pressures to rush into sexual relationships. It is to negate the hype and illusions of sex, and to explore and provide a rationale that strengthens resolve to wait - to wait until the time, the circumstances, the emotions, the psychology and the spiritual factors are all aligned. It is to help young adults avoid society's "Sex Trap."
A study was released that compared married couples who had premarital sex, with those who waited until they were married to consummate their relationship. The study found that those who waited for marriage had clearly higher advantages in their marriages: these couples had significantly higher relationship stability, significantly higher relationship satisfaction, significantly higher communication between them, and significantly higher "better sex" (i.e., a better quality of their sexual intimacy and their sexual relationship.) On all four points in the study, clearly, those who waited for sex until marriage demonstrated better outcomes - significantly so.
One of the general findings about sex, although little attention has been paid to it, is that "sex is a distraction of life." Millions have found that their goals of life - careers, education, or other goals were interrupted because of sex. In fact, many have found that their sexual thoughts and desires overwhelmed their life goals and interfered with them in time, energy and resources.
Please have an open mind in reading this book. The material is as significant and critical as any other issue or topic can possibly be. Sex is a life choice. As with all choices it can be positive - and it can be very, very damaging.
