Steve Carell is an American actor. His earliest acting job was with a children's performance theatre, and later he performed with Chicago troop "The Second City", along with comedian Steven Colbert. That same year, he earned his first film role in the movie "Curly Sue".

 

He appeared in the short running "Dana Carvey Show" in 1996, and was a correspondent of "The Daily Show" from 1999 to 2005. In the spring of 2005 Carell signed on with NBC to star in an American version of a British TV show "The Office", playing lead character Michael Scott. He won a Golden Globe award in 2006 for this role, and also received two Emmy nominations in 2006 and 2007.
