The Great CrossTraining Handbook is highly recommended for anyone starting a CrossTraining program. CrossTraining is filled with acronyms, specific types of workouts, and a method of working out that can be confusing for a beginner. Most people feel "out of the loop" when starting CrossTraining and this book explains everything you need to know to get you comfortable.

The Great CrossTraining Handbook covers it all including a brief history on how the CrossTraining movement started and why CrossTraining is different from a workout you might do at a typical gym. The handbook then explains everything you need to know to get you up and running with CrossTraining, including benchmark WODs and their purpose, the equipment used, how CrossTraining define fitness (not the same as common definitions) and some information on nutrition. The Great CrossTraining Handbook then proceeds with clear explanations of the 7 Foundational Exercises (very important) then descriptions of many other exercises common to CrossTraining workouts (metabolic, gymnastic, & strength).
