Mirai Industry’s biggest theme is to make their employees happy. People work hard and are more creative when they are happy! Mirai has been doing very strange things for 50 years:
-Never lost any money in past 50 years, since inception
-Longest paid vacation and shortest working hours in Japan
-No “HoRenSo” – no reporting, communicating and consulting – we want everyone to be self-reliant
-No overtime
-You must differentiate - we don’t do what others do
-No sales quotas
-You get paid $6.00 for every mistake you make
-In fact, you are encouraged to make mistakes, learn from them, but never make the same mistake twice
-We don’t make it cheaper – most patents for its size
-No carrot and stick
-Everyone is fulltime
-Every five years all 850 employees go on an overseas trip – this year it was Italy
-Don’t work for others – do things you like
-If you fail the supervisor will say “Good job” – no scolding
-They get around 10,000 implemented ideas per year
-Managers are prohibited from giving orders to subordinates
-We do not measure people’s performance
-Easy to work here but a challenge to the managers

“Business will never be profitable if you are doing the same things that other companies do.”
