Have you ever wondered what becomes of the baby teeth the Tooth Fairies collect? The answer to this question has remained a mystery for many generations … until now.
This is the story of Lily Belle, a new Tooth Fairy and her search for the answer to this well-kept secret. LaNola, an experienced Tooth Fairy, becomes Lily Belle’s mentor and introduces her to the ways of the Tooth Fairies. Lily Belle learns the techniques for collecting and storing the teeth, as well as the origin of the pittance; but whenever she asks what happens to the baby teeth …she is simply told that it’s a secret.
Not one to be put off, Lily Belle follows the trail of the teeth and eventually meets Jarita, an aging Tooth Fairy who is the caretaker of these precious treasures. Lily Belle asks the question, but Jarita will only reveal it if Lily Belle promises to keep the secret. Lilly Belle agrees, so Jarita tells her the story:
Many years ago, while transporting the baby teeth to a new location, a sudden gust of wind tossed the fairies about causing some of the baby teeth to spill into Shadow Bay. Although a thorough search was made by the Tooth Fairies, the baby teeth were never seen again. Months later, the Tooth Fairies learned that the local fishermen had received an unexpected gift from the sea. The Tooth Fairies wondered if this was just a coincidence, or perhaps… something amazing. Eager to find out, the Tooth Fairies conducted an experiment. After many anxious months, the results confirmed the Tooth Fairies’ suspicion and brought to light one of the greatest secrets of nature. Lily Belle has kept the secret...can you?
