Another Piece of Pie, Please

Interspersed with the recipes are random stories, mostly relating to pie making, but forgive the author if she slipped in a thought or two that has nothing at all to do with the subject matter! You’ll also notice “pie notes” that are flagged with the little pie icon - it’s a delicious slice of cherry pie (the author's favourite). These notes are meant to draw your attention to specific tips and tricks related to the particular pie that you are “building!” The author has rolled, stirred, and baked my way through this book, foisting the pies on anyone who came within ten feet. Her husband, Dave, has sacrificed himself to sample test recipes so you can be assured that they work. Together, they have had their share of tasting, too, and the result is that they have both gained some weight. After the book, they are in the process of putting that weight gain behind them, so to speak. They are happy to do it, even though the current lack of a daily slice of pie has plunged both author and husband into deep mourning. They'll get over it and the result will likely be a book on the joy of eating raw turnip!
