This is the twenty-first story in the series that covers the lives of Detective Chief Inspector Victor Moyes and his second in command Detective Sergeant Victoria Morgan. The stories are set in the nineteen sixties before the advent of the mobile phone and computer age when they relied on old fashioned policing methods which were slow and laborious.
Victor and Victoria have still been unable to patch up their differences which makes working together difficult and resulted in Victoria becoming friendly with the Assistant Chief Constable’s niece, Detective Constable Annette Whynment. In attempting to find a missing girl, they uncover a lot more than they expected and with communications with Victor stretched, Victoria finds that she has to take the lead. Their investigation is further complicated with the discovery of the naked body of a woman.
