This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of Purpose, Pursuit and Motivation are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore four topics, from different verses in the book of Isaiah. They are: Consulting mediums and spiritists; God’s servant; Light to gentiles and Hidden in preparation.
Excerpts:
Consulting mediums and spiritists
“Because someone can give information about you supernatural does not means he is truly from God, because the young girl was telling things about Paul and his team that were true. Paul casted out a demon from her. She was possessed with a spirit of divination (Acts 16:16-19). And she had made a lot of money for his minders (another evidence that this is not from God). But Paul casted the python spirit from her, expressing the power of God over that expression of the spirit of python. That is the same call you have, to dominate in the name of Jesus and not be dominated.”
God’s servant
“We are his reward, sons coming into glory, clothed with his righteousness and brought back into fellowship with God. And Jesus was described as the servant of God (Matthew 12:18), doing his will all the time.”
Light to gentiles
“ ‘Light to the Gentiles’ is a call to relevance, to service, to a life on a mission, to helping others to gain the victory that you already have because as mentioned above, those who know their God will be strong and do exploit.”
Hidden in preparation
“An active cooperation with the Holy Spirit is therefore what we need to be fully prepared. Jesus wanted his disciples adequately prepared, he therefore said that they should wait in Jerusalem to be endowed with power from on high (Acts 1:8). If you cannot wait to be prepared, you are not ready to walk with God.”
