This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of Life in the Spirit are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore five topics, from different verses in the books of Romans, 1Corinthians, Ephesians and James. They are: Life in the soul, body and spirit; By the Holy Spirit; The Holy Spirit of God; Resisting the devil; and Anointing with oil.

Life in the soul, body and spirit
“That is the power of faith, which moves us into the life and realm of God through which we break barriers. The bible says that the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set us free from the law of sin and death, therefore life is about breaking barriers, suspending natural rules, changing the tides, running on a different kind of law by which we rule of over death (Romans 8:1-2).”
By the Holy Spirit
“The fire burns up impurities. John the Baptist mentioned the way Jesus will use spiritual fire, the Holy Spirit (Luke 3:16-17). It is for purging. For better manifestation we are setup for a life of holiness as we go along. The fire stands for loving passion for God. Without the Holy Spirit, we would be cold to God, at the best (Romans 5:5).”
The Holy Spirit of God
“The Holy Spirit directly controls the angels, because angels are called ministering spirits (wind) (Hebrews 1:13-14) and the ultimate spiritual wind is the Holy Spirit. There is no operation of angels in whatever form without the Holy Spirit, through whom the multitudes of the angels are deployed on the earth with precision and alignment to the purpose of God.”
Resisting the devil
“Therefore the Holy Spirit helps our infirmity not really from outside of us but from inside. He carries out his intercession in and through us, because in our spirits we know fully the will of God (1John 2:20,27), we can fully pray the will of God. As it is our spirit praying, it is the Holy Spirit praying through us and his work of intercession continues.”
Anointing with oil
“If the one (e.g. elder) using the oil does not have an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit, and does not use the name of Jesus by faith, anointing with oil would not be more than play games, at least, and frustration at worst.”
