This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of Spiritual Growth are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore three topics, from different verses in the books of Hosea, Joel, and Obadiah. They are: Discernment; Heart things; and Being of understanding heart.

Discernment
“The Sons of Issachar (1Chronicles 12:32) were referred to as those who have understanding of the times and are therefore fully equipped to be leaders in Israel, to know what Israel should do per time. The force of discernment was in them. They knew what they wanted and where they should go to get it.”
Heart things
“There is nothing wrong in changing your mind if it is about extending mercy to others. With that we act like God. When some people were throwing stones at Stephen, he did not wish the worst on them, but prayed for them (Acts 8). Jesus said we should pray for our enemies and bless those who use us badly, saying that makes us as children of God (Matthew 5:44-45).”
Being of understanding heart
“The basis of true understanding is to consider that God was manifested in the flesh in Christ, and experienced indescribable pain to free us from damnation. The heart of understanding starts with understanding and taking the steps salvation, owning up to the foolishness of your ways, apart from God, the true source of true wisdom.”
