My Mother, the Spy: Part 2 in the series follows on from Partl -only 8 years later. Susan and her mother Paula are now using only their Greek names Sofia and Roulla (see footnote inside book). Susan is now married to Jorge and they have two children Kiki and Nitsa. Jorge is an olive farmer and his family owns the island.  Life has been good to all of them, until Susan begins to feel edgy and fearful again. Then when her mother says that she too thinks there is something afoot, they all become very concerned and a lot more vigilant.

The idea that someone might be coming after them again after so many peaceful years, send Susan out to sit on her favourite rock far out in the ocean, where she sits and contemplates the future and the past, as she watches the waves gently lapping against the brilliant white shoreline in front of her.  Her thoughts then take her back in time, to the time when she and her mother first came to the island and eventually settled there.

She feels more at peace by the time she returns to the beach and walks home by climbing the steep stone steps that lead up from the beach,  Then a few days later, she sees three strangers on their private beach and her fear returns. She eventually tells Jorge about this and he says they all need to keep a low profile for a time. A few other scary things begin to happen in their lives and Susan stays away from the small town for a while. But when all the threats prove to have nothing to do with them, she ventures into town to do her shopping one morning.

Unfortunately, while she is walking around she sees someone quickly duck behind a pillar to avoid being seen -and all her old anxieties return.  Later someone from the past finds them and tells them he has known where they were living all along. He tells them he has come to warn them that a few Russian men have been snooping around at their old home and have also been seen at one of MI6's safe houses, which is no longer in use.

To discover what happens and how Paula, Susan and the family deals with it, youll need to download the story.  To fill in the gaps read part 1 first,  -if you want to know the full story of how a woman who is an ex Spy for MI6, deals with the various situations that arise, when men from the old Russian mob try to find her, to punish her for the way she devestated their spy network during the Cold War..

Part 3 in the series will be available shortly.
